Video with and descriptive audio and captioning in Real Player

The demonstration requires Real Player 7.0, which supports closed captions. Closed captions are turned off by default so it will be necessary to turn them on in order to view the captions. Caption can be turned on by selecting from the Real Player menu View >> Preferences >> Content, then checking the "Enable optional caption." This may also be accomplished by right clicking (or click and hold for Mac) inside the Real Player embedded in this page, then selecting the same menu items as those mentioned above.

Captions are created in a separate file that is streamed simultaneously with the Video presentation using Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL).

Information on, SMIL, and Closed Captioning can be found in the Real Networks G2 Production Guide.
