Try this exercise before attempting to operate the VRML demo below: Imagine you have a wooden block, much like a block you might see a child playing with. Imagine that the outside of the wooden block has been painted red. Now imaging making two vertical cuts down through the block dividing it into three equal pieces. Next imagine making two additional vertical cuts through the cube at right angles to the first two cuts, dividing the cube into nine equal pieces. Finally, imagine making two horizontal cuts through the block, dividing the cube into 27 equal smaller cubes. The question is, how many of these 27 smaller cubes are painted on three sides? Two sides? One side? How many are not painted on any side?
To operate this VRML cube using a keyboard requires a VRML browser that supports keyboard access. You can download Cosmo Player if you do not already have a VRML plugin for your Web Browser.
